When Spirit first let me know I was to start calling myself The Quirky Healer, frankly I was insulted. Then I figured it was worth looking up the dictionary definition of “quirky” and could totally see how it fit. All the years of healing have brought me to a place of authenticity, and there’s no denying my authentic self is quirky as hell. I’m weird, eccentric, odd, distinctly different…depending on who you talk to. Knowing the freedom I found when I allowed myself to be unapologetically me, I hope to encourage my clients to embrace who they truly are whether society understands them or not. After all, it’s okay to be a square peg in a round hole more and more as being neurodivergent is no longer anything we have to try to hide.
I am definitely not one to sugar-coat. I’m a plain talker and am willing to dish out some tough love when it’s called for. If you value the truth, even when it’s not what you necessarily want to hear, we will get along swimmingly, especially if you appreciate a fairly witty sense of humor. A pituitary macroadenoma brought about two brain surgeries which turned my world upside-down. I learned through that experience how important it is to find something to laugh about no matter how dark things may seem. Laughter really IS food for the soul.
